1. Account Manager

 

About the Position – As an Account Manager at Ecodesk you are responsible for your own set of clients. Overall, the job involves project managing the collection of sustainability data from a clients’ supply chain via the Ecodesk platform, data analysis and interpretation, and client reporting/advisory services. You are the primary contact for each client and are responsible for building robust relationships, providing excellent service levels and ultimately growing the account.

The role is a dynamic mix of hands-on client and supplier contact, project management and data interpretation combined with conceptual elements of project scoping, consultancy and product development.

In more detail an Ecodesk Account Manager has the following main responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships
  • Project manage programmes for specific clients and meet client KPIs. Project management involves project scoping, drafting and maintaining project plans and ensuring project delivery in a timely manner
  • Provide training for clients and suppliers
  • Demonstrate leadership and provide examples of best practice to Account Executives
  • Conduct performance review meetings with key accounts
  • Actively seek additional revenue opportunities within existing client base
  • Provide support for the client and suppliers in communicating the benefits of the platform through presentations and webinars
  • Work closely with Ecodesk developers in providing structured feedback on the performance and possible developments for the Ecodesk platform
  • Translate client requirements into existing product updates and/or new products and services
  • Regular reporting to key accounts following established formats
  • Conducting updates via telephone or teleconferencing systems to key accounts & their suppliers
  • Identifying erroneous data inputs/anomalies and rectifying as such
  • Drafting and sending written correspondence & proposals

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (2:1 or higher, or equivalent) in sustainability, supply chain, business and/or related fields
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in sustainability, supply chain or customer facing job roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language
  • Analytical and Project Management skills
  • High level of integrity
  • Pro-active work attitude
  • Well-developed organisational, time-management and communications skills

Preferred:

  • Master degree(s) in relevant field
  • Additional language skills
  • Prior work experience in information technology.
  • Excellent database management skills
  • Project Management Certification

2. Internship 

We currently have an opportunity for a 6-month full-time internship with our UK-based software development team. This is an exciting post that will suit a recently graduated developer looking to expand their skillsets with a rapidly growing business in the South West.

About the Internship – We believe that technology learning is a continual process that is optimised through vocational experiences. Working within the development team and under the supervision of a Senior Developer the successful candidate would receive tuition and guidance on agile development methodologies, version source control, software architecture and enhanced learning for RESTful web applications.

You’ll be part of and learn from a small team of talented web developers experienced in continuous development using innovative tools and meeting the demanding expectations of our clients and internal users. Learning will centre around the production and publishing of good quality JAVA code with exposure to a large web application that will increase knowledge of not only JAVA and MySQL but provide further opportunities to improve the candidates knowledge of development best practices.

About You – You will be passionate about technology and sustainability with an ambition to understand the synergies between these areas. Likely to be recently graduated with a BSc (or equivalent) in Computer Science you will be articulate, mathematically literate and capable of rapidly settling in amongst a busy development team.

As an intern you will be expected to write and execute good quality code in response to internal and external business demands. You should possess some familiarity with agile processes and demonstrate the correct attributes that will allow you to support your colleagues across all business departments, apply creativity to the role and use your initiative to demonstrate innovation.

You will be eager to learn about the application of your existing skillsets and looking to further your learning inside an organisation that is adapting to changes in a highly dynamic technology space.

Expectations

  • Capable of writing well-structured code that is consistent, accurately formed and correctly commented
  • To want to take personal responsibility for the quality of the development and ensure that the code is consistent with expectations of your peers
  • Willingness to learn more about Agile development and contribute to as well as learn from experiences using JIRA
  • To apply formal learning in a work environment, raise questions and set personal challenges to improve and acquire knowledge
  • An ability to identify, report and fix system bugs and understand implications in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • To want to work independently and make valuable contributions to the development team outputs whilst integrating with business systems and processes
  • Possess an ability to consistently produce good quality code that can withstand the rigours of Beta/UA testing amongst various internal and external user groups

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • BSc (or equivalent) in Computer Science
  • Experience of programming with JAVA and MySQL
  • Knowledge and some experience of REST web services
  • Proven understanding of object-orientated programming (OOP)
  • Determination to thrive in a dynamic, fast-growing technology business
  • Ability to write unit tests (jUnit or TestNG)

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge and/or experience of Spring framework
  • Some knowledge of web services architecture/structure
  • Desire to learn and expand programming skillsets
  • Ambition to deliver beyond expectations

This role has no specific reporting requirements and will be directly supervised by the Development Team Leader.
